Injection molding is an engineering technology that involves transforming plastic into useful products that retain their original properties. Important process parameters in injection molding are temperature, pressure, and the respective durations influencing plasticization, flow, and cooling.

Temperature Control
1. Barrel Temperature: In the injection molding process, temperatures that need to be controlled include the barrel temperature, nozzle temperature, and mold temperature. The first two temperatures primarily affect the plasticization and flow of the plastic, while the last primarily affects the flow and cooling of the plastic. Each plastic has a different flow temperature. For the same type of plastic, the flow temperature and decomposition temperature may differ due to different sources or grades, which is caused by differences in average molecular weight and molecular weight distribution. The plasticization process of plastics in different types of injection machines is also different; therefore, the barrel temperature selection also varies.

2. Nozzle Temperature: The nozzle temperature is usually slightly lower than the highest barrel temperature to prevent "drooling" in a straight-through nozzle. The nozzle temperature cannot be too low; otherwise, premature solidification of the melt will clog the nozzle or affect the product's performance due to premature solidification of the material injected into the mold cavity.

3. Mold Temperature: The mold temperature greatly affects the inherent properties and appearance quality of the product. The mold temperature depends on whether the plastic is crystalline, the size and structure of the product, performance requirements, and other process conditions (melt temperature, injection speed and pressure, molding cycle, etc.).
